Adventures in.... Grading?
The lengths to which students will go to avoid admitting they don't know the answer never ceases to amaze me.

I've just read two paragraphs of discussion on a true/false question that could have been (and mostly was, by the other students) answered in one sentence.

They were very creative and well-researched paragraphs.

They were also wrong.

I am, however, highly tempted to offer bonus points for creativity.

nods. Yeah, seen that too.

I followed an icon from a comment that you left somewhere. I'm an icon follower especially on SCA folks. I teach college freshmen biology, and I get some doozies sometimes.

Ah, that's why your name looked familar! Hiya, welcome to my crazy corner of the 'net. :)

I'm a TA for an Econ 501 class -- introductory econ for policy and planning masters candidates. Before I started the program I was a substitute in middle & high school, all subjects.

nods. Hubby does substitute teaching. I wouldn't have minded teaching HS science, but I don't have the credentials for it. Students can just boggle the mind, can't they? You like to hope that we were brighter than they appear to be sometimes! *giggle*
